Speakers and Presentations:
Meg Wilson - Owner and Principal Psychologist at Affirming Minds
Meg Wilson is a Registered Psychologist with an interest in the intersection of chronic health conditions and mental well-being. Through her practice, Affirming Minds, Meg provides tailored, evidence-based support for individuals navigating complex life changes, with a dedicated focus on neurodivergence, Parkinson's disease, stroke, and neurodegenerative conditions.
Meg’s therapeutic approach is fundamentally holistic, prioritizing client-led care that aims to understand human experiences from the inside out. This perspective is at the heart of her presentation, where she will explore the side of Parkinson's that no-one talks about. While Parkinson's Disease is widely recognized for its physical impact, Meg will dive into the critical, yet frequently under supported symptoms: mood, apathy, and motivation. Drawing from her extensive experience, Meg is dedicated to highlighting these unseen challenges and providing patients, caregivers, and professionals with a deeper understanding of how to support mental well-being alongside a Parkinson's diagnosis.

She holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Disability Studies) and a Graduate Certificate in Ageing and Disability, and is a qualified End-of-Life Doula through Peaceful Presence.
