We are pleased to welcome you to join us for an informative and supportive evening focused on prostate cancer awareness, treatment, research and living well after diagnosis. Hear from leading clinicians, researchers, healthcare professionals and people with lived experience, with each session offering unique and personal insights into how we can better understand the many aspects of prostate cancer care. The engaging evening will include panel conversations, informative presentations and access to experts providing invaluable insight into further information and support.
Hear directly from Channel 9 News Presenter and respected prostate cancer advocate and survivor, Will McDonald in this inspiring and informative evening focused on prostate cancer awareness, lived experience, and the importance of early detection. Throughout the event, Will's honest and engaging story has helped raise awareness for thousands of Australians and continues to encourage men and families to have important conversations about their health.

6:00pm: Event welcome with MC, Dr Andrew Shepherd
Dr Andrew Shepherd is a consultant urological and robotic surgeon with expertise in urinary tract cancers. He will welcome guests and guide the evening as MC.
6:05pm: Consumer Panel
Will McDonald is a Nine News Adelaide presenter living with Stage 4 prostate cancer. Will conquered the Cairns Ironman while undergoing active treatment and will be sharing his deeply personal journey to champion prostate cancer research & awareness.
John McKiernan is a retired educator, trainer, enrolled nurse, and consultant. John was diagnosed with an aggressive prostate tumour less than 12 months ago, and will be sharing the challenges and successes of his journey
Professor Paul Flynn is Group Chief Executive Officer of The Hospital Research Foundation Group, honorary Professorial Fellow at Flinders University, and prostate cancer survivor. He will offer insights into research, patient care and community impact, and where his passion comes from in helping shape the future of healthcare and community impact.
6:30pm: Adjuvant Therapy for Localised Prostate Cancer
Professor Christopher Sweeney is the inaugural Director of the South Australian immunoGENomics Cancer Institute at the University of Adelaide. He will be sharing insightful research on adjuvant therapy for localised prostate cancer.

7:00pm: Improving Sexual Wellbeing after Prostate Cancer
Associate Professor Kerri Beckmann is a prostate cancer outcomes researcher at the University of Adelaide. Kerri will share research insights focused on survivorship, treatment outcomes and quality of life.
7:15pm: Radiation oncology with Dr Braden Higgs
Dr Braden Higgs is a Consultant Radiation Oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre with a special interest in prostate cancer. He has contributed to national treatment guidelines, and leads research in prostate cancer clinical trials. Dr Higgs will be sharing evidence based insights into radiation oncology and prostate cancer treatment.
7:30pm: Living well after diagnosis Panel
Narelle Wadsworth is an experienced oncology nurse specialising in prostate cancer and radiotherapy over 25 years of expertise working across medical oncology and haematology.
Henry McGregor is a men’s health physiotherapist with nearly 20 years of experience. He supports men through treatment and recovery, drawing on both clinical and personal connections to the cause after seeing his father and grandfather fight prostate cancer.
Rebecca Penrose is a clinical psychologist with 16 years of experience supporting people affected by cancer in both public hospitals and private practice.
James Georgiou is a consultant pharmacist and clinical sexologist. He supports men through vital urological and sexual function changes before, during and after a cancer journey.

Formal presentations will conclude, with guests encouraged to continue conversations and visit exhibitors.

Trains, trams and buses operated by Adelaide Metro provide direct access to the Centre. Be sure to plan your journey in advance and allow extra travel time for any delays or disruptions.
Parking
The Undercroft car park, located beneath the Star Room at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, will be available for complimentary guest parking. Please note that spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Access to the car park is via Gate 1 off Port Road, with directional signage in place to guide you.
