What is Ribbon Round?

Ribbon Round turns game day into a powerful show of support. Players, coaches, and officials wear coloured ribbons – each one representing a different form of cancer – to raise awareness and rally their community behind the cause. It's a small gesture with a big impact, helping fund vital cancer research and patient care.

You're helping fight cancer

Now's your chance to show your true colours and support a worthy cause.

During Round 10 and Round 14 (Reserves) – Wednesday 8 July, Friday 10 July and AMND on Friday 17 July and Saturday 18 July – grab one of eight coloured ribbons from the entrance for just $5, each colour representing a different type of cancer:

🩷 Breast cancer
💛 Childhood cancers
💚 Bowel and stomach cancers
🩵 Prostate cancer
💙 Ovarian cancer (ribbon is teal)
❤️ Blood cancers
💜 Pancreatic cancer
🩶 Brain cancer

Every dollar raised funds cancer research and patient care through The Hospital Research Foundation Group.

The impact you're creating

Your support is going to vital cancer research to improve the detection, treatment and management of all forms of cancer.

Thanks to your generosity, researchers like Dr Sarah Boyle and her team from Adelaide University are investigating how breast cancer cells grow and spread around the body.

Her work has discovered a hidden ‘squeeze’ or intense mechanical pressure inside tumours that help some cancer cells grow and become more aggressive.

This discovery will help inform new treatments to limit tumour growth – bringing hope to women fighting breast cancer.
