A NIGHT 60 YEARS IN THE MAKING
In 2025 The Hospital Research Foundation Group celebrates 60 years of life-changing impact.
First established in 1965 as The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation, we have grown from supporting a single hospital to funding life-changing research and patient care initiatives right across South Australia and beyond.
Thanks to the generous support of our community, we were proud to support the first live kidney transplant in the southern hemisphere which took place at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in 1965. This historic moment was the catalyst for creating more everyday moments for all Australians—moments of joy, connection, and second chances at life.
Now, six-decades later we come together to celebrate this incredible journey.
