The Hospital Research Foundation Group exists to improve the health and wellbeing of all Australians. Our Group consists of 11 charities to fund research, vital patient care services and programs across more than 60 areas of disease and illness. From cancer and stroke to palliative care and veteran’s health, we are committed to ensuring better treatment, research breakthroughs and support services for those who need it most—now and for generations to come.
First established in 1965 as The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation, we have grown from supporting a single hospital to funding life-changing research and patient care initiatives right across South Australia and Australia.
Thanks to the generous support of our community, we were proud to support the first live kidney transplant in the southern hemisphere which took place at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in 1965 – the catalyst for creating more everyday moments for all Australians.
